Recall Description
CARPET SHIELDING AND INSULATION REWORK. FRONT SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER DEPLOYMENT DURING A CRASH EVENT CAN RESULT IN EXCESSIVE SPARKS GENERATED BY SUSPECT PRETENSIONING DEVICES. IN SOME CASES, THIS COULD RESULT IN THE IGNITION OF CARPET OR CARPET INSULATION MATERIAL IN THE B PILLAR AREA.

Remedy
OWNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY MAIL TO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO A FORD OR LINCOLN DEALERS WHO WILL COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING REPAIRS ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES APPLY FOIL TAPE TO THE CARPET AND CARPET INSULATION, AND MODIFY SOUND DEADENER ON THE BACK SIDE THE B PILLAR TRIM PANEL AS NEEDED. THERE WILL BE NO CHARGE FOR THIS SERVICE. FORD WILL FORWARD A COPY OF THE NOTIFICATION LETTERS TO DEALERS TO THE AGENCY WHEN AVAILABLE.
