Recall Description
Hyundai is conducting a recall to inspect and if needed, repair the evaporative emission canister on certain Model Year 2012 through 2016 Veloster and Veloster Turbo vehicles,and on certain 2011 through 2015 Sonata Hybrid vehicles. During winter months, large quantities of salt are used to de-ice roads in Canada. Road salt and water can corrode the bracket holding the canister in place; as well as the seal within the canister. This can result in the need to replace these components and if necessary, the canister itself. Should the evaporative emission canister sustain damage, gasoline vapors may be released into the air.
